"Scheelite:This specimen is a self-collected
specimen of scheelite (fl. bright blue/white SW) as frozen grains
in a quartz matrix from the Cerro Gordo Mine, Cerro Gordo, Inyo
County, California. The size is 5" x 3" x 2",
a nice large cabinet size. This is a very good example of scheelite
from a locale not previously known for this species, and one
of the better fluorescent pieces collected. The Cerro Gordo Mine
and district is primarily a lead, zinc, and silver mining area,
and it appears that scheelite was found in a distinct zone in
the mine, as it's located in a very discreet area of the dumps."
