Rothesay in Winter

This is one of the houses in Rothesay.
There was almost no downtown but there was a large field in the
center of town where we saw some Scottish Highland Games during
the summer. An outdoor iceskating rink appeared on the Green
during the winter. |

That winter, my Mom showed us her ice-skating
abilities. We all thought she was very good at it. And we all
love it when we watch my Dad's old home movies of her skating,
especially the double-exposed parts. It's some of my Dad's best
camera work, looking back at it now. It shows my Mom gracefully
skating superimposed on local scenery and Rothesay in winter. |

Time for a break: us kids were quite
pleased - there was Mom doing something much better than our
Dad. It was all a lot of fun. The kids weren't very good on our
first try at skating but my Dad did give one of his funny performances.
